Cathdrale Stjust

The august Cathédrale St-Just (entry on rue Armand Gauthier; S 10am-7pm Jul-Sep, 9am-noon & 2-6pm Oct-Jun) is, in fact, no more than its towers and a soaring choir which, at 41m, ranks as France's third highest. In the early 14th century, construction stopped when the city authorities refused to allow the demolition of part of the protective ramparts to make way for the cathedral's expansion, and it was never resumed.
