Other Museums

The excellent Art Collection Museum (Muzeul Colectiilor de Artâ; Map pp54-5; ®650 6132; Calea Victoriei 111; adult/student €1/0.50; (910am-6pm Wed-Sun) was formed from several private collections and is today part of the National Art Museum. There are many fine works by 19th-century Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu. It's worthwhile spending an afternoon here.

National composer George Enescu (1881— 1955) lived for a short time in the former Cantacuzino Palace. The building was built in the early 1900s in a French-baroque style and features a wonderful clam-shaped porte-cochere above the main entrance. The George tfldcu Museum (Muzeul George Enescu; Map pp54-5; • h59 6365; Calea Victoriei 141; admission €0.50; Vi I0am-5pm Tue-Sun) exhibits the musician's niiiiuiscripts and personal belongings. A col-Iri lion of Bach scores belonging to Queen Mi/abeth of Romania is on display.
