Steno Museum

(Stenomuseet) C.F. Mollers Alle n 89-42-39-75 or www.stenomuseet.dk

This is the Danish Museum for the History of Science and Medicine. Its exhibits are divided into two sections. The first explores the history of science from Stonehenge to Niels Bohr - with huge telescopes being particularly fascinating. The second details the history of medicine - with some intriguing life-size models and ancient equipment. The upper floor contains a planetarium.

A recent addition to this museum is the Medicinal Herb Garden, a quiet place in which to meditate or recuperate.

The Steno Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm; and Wednesday evening from 7 pm to 10 pm. Planetarium shows are daily, at 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm and 8 pm. Admission to the museum is DKK 40; an extra admission of DKK 40 is charged for Planetarium shows, but a combination ticket for the two, at DKK 60, offers a little savings.
